Records of the Congregational Church on the Tuscarora Indian Reservation [digital prints] : manuscript, 1828-1877.

Records of congregation activities, including meetings, baptisms, petitions to join the church, excommunications, and community discussions regarding the transgressions of congregants--such as the rape and subsequent single motherhood of Ann Silver (leaf 16v [f. 15v/p. 36 of original]); members not showing for meetings; the "heresy ... of Mormonism" (leaf 31v [f. 30v/p. 66 of original]), etc. The earliest entry, dated 1828, recounts the earlier history starting 1805 (leaf 40r [f. 39r/p. 83 of original]). Includes list of member names, with some birth and death dates, as well as some excommunicated dates. Also includes loose sheets, written in a much later hand, with a history of the Tuscarora Indians.
